Food Glorious Food

Hiya! Today at work was a 40th birthday bash for a co-worker. He is also one of the people on the receiving end of a baby shower coming up this Saturday. So we did this pot-luck thing. He's Turkish and "love this thing you do, that pot-luck thing". He is soooo funny! Anyway, I brought Scotch eggs. For those of you who don't know what they are picture this. Hard boil and peel the eggs, roll damp eggs in flour. Then you surround these eggs with a shell of breakfast sausage seasoned with sage, s&p, thyme and cloves, making sure no egg is exposed (about 1/4 lb of sausage per egg!). Roll these in beaten egg and then fine bread crumbs. Bake at 400 for 30 minutes. SO FATTENING! They were a hit and would work on the "Atkin's diet" if you skip the flour and bread crumbs. Anyway, all kinds of breakfast foods. It almost made me wish I was loading today, but I'm waiting for Saturday. Oh, and the Scotch eggs were a huge hit at the party. The recipe doesn't call for Scotch which disappointed some so I revised the recipe before handing it out to the people who wanted it. For each 4 eggs, drink some scotch! Ok, I am not a scotch drinker. Well, bye now!
